In Lieu of COVID-19 concerns all future in-person events are postponed or cancelled until a later date. However, Strength Behind Stars will be teaming up with their partner, CHYP, to provide a creative and informative platform/forum for youth during this pandemic.

February 28, 2019. Book reading/Q&A/book signing for Adams Elementary School at Chaucer’s Book Store in Santa Barbara.

June 9, 2019. OC pop concert. Alyssa speaking about her advocacy for anti bullying measures at the Margaret A. Webb Theater in Santa Ana.

June 19th, 2019. Andersen Elementary School In Newport Beach. Alyssa spoke to a group of kindergartners and first graders about her book and bullying.

November 9, 2019. Alyssa attends and supports Ability Awareness event in Laguna Beach as one of their youth members honoring and paying tribute to youth who have taken their lives due to bullying.

November 24, 2019. Kindness Act: Alyssa and her sister help pack Thanksgiving boxes of food and bibles for the homeless at Bel Air Presbyterian Church

November 27, 2019, Alyssa and her sister Olivia wrap boxes to be delivered to all of the Erewhon Grocery Markets to collects toys for The Midnight Mission for the holidays.

March 2, 2020, Santa Monica: Alyssa speaks to an after school program about her book, kindness and bullying.

Santa Monica January 15,2020:Alyssa reads her book, The Purple Marble, and then has a discussion and Q&A with the kids about kindness and bullying.

February 12, 2020 Santa Monica: Alyssa read her book, The Purple Marble, and led a discussion and Q&A after.

March 10, 2020 : Alyssa was interviewed by Spectrum News for “In Focus” who was doing a segment on bullying.

March 16, 2020 Event Cancelled due to school closure for Covid 19 and will be rescheduled. Alyssa was going to speak to 600 kids in 3 separate assemblies based on age groups about her book and bullying.

March 2020. Strength Behind Stars held an online fundraiser to raise money for United Friends of the children to help with the immediate need during the Covid 19 pandemic for food and necessities for foster youth. Originally we scheduled a cooking demonstration to raise funds for prom dresses for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. However, because of school closures and more immediate needs, we chose to donate the proceeds to United Friends of the Children.

October 17, 2018. Avalon Theater in Hollywood. Alyssa spoke at Musicash Premier Event and her non profit Strength Behind Stars was the benefactor. Alyssa was the honoree speaking about her cause.

Olga Reed Elementary School in Los Alamos: Alyssa was invited to speak to a group of kids about her book and kindness. Here is only a few of the kids as the picture was taken after most of the kids had left.

Santa Ynez Valley High School: Alyssa paid her scholarship for her community service youth award to a deserving senior student at Santa Ynez High School.
